He beat the hot favourite Jamie Fallows 7 - 6 in the final.  Jamie was 4 - 2 in front, before Steve levelled it at 4 all.  Steve then went 6 - 4 up.  But with his back against the wall, Jamie pulled out 2 great frames to set up the decider.  After a small tactical battle, Jamie cleared his last few balls up and potted a great last red, but snookered himself on the black.  Missing the black gave Steve 2 visits, which he duly used to finish the match!!

With 29 entrants playing on the day, we had a bigger turn out than we were expecting.  So thanks to all who came along and played.

Thanks also to Michelle Murray and Noel Hitch for giving me a hand on the day with the draw.

It was a case of 'oh so near' for Shropshire 'A' as they returned from Stoke on the back of a 23-21 defeat at the hands of Staffordshire 'A'.

With Staffordshire producing some of the UK's top pool players including both the current World and European Champions, Shropshire got off to a good start,  holding their own for a share of the spoils at the halfway point with an 11-11 scoreline.

The 2009 Easter Bank Holiday 8-Ball Pool Challenge

Entries are now being taken for this tournament, to be held at one of the midlands top cue sports venues on Monday 13th April, and as always players are guaranteed a great day of English pool for a very competitive entry fee. Pool players from around the midlands, north west and south of England are expected for this event and places are strictly limited and available on a first come first served basis. Once its full no further places will be available so enter early to avoid disappointment!

For your added convenience entry can be obtained via our online store. Subject to numbers this event may also include LIVE broadcasting on the Premier Pool Promotions website. Forum discussion for this, and all, PPP events can be found at Cue Club International (via uk8ball.com).

Entries are now being taken for the 2009 North West Open 8-Ball Pool Championships and this event is open only to the first 64 players who pay the £20 entry fee. With a prize fund of over £1,200 on the day this one is not too be missed and places are available on a first-come first-served basis only.

The event is on Saturday, 30th May, 2009 and once again will be held at Dishers Pool & Snooker Club, South Street, Crewe, Cheshire, CW2 6HL.

All matches will be played to full World rules, best of 11 frames, with prize money paid to the Last 16 and a plate event for all competitors who lose in rounds one and two.
